Is Joel Moving In On BaseCampHQ Territory?

I just noticed that the footer of Joel's blog now refers to FogBUGZ as "project management software".  Didn't he used to refer to it as bug tracking software?

I wonder if Joel is planning to slooooowly move into BaseCamp's space.  It would be interesting to see two "usability gurus" - Joel and 37Signals - going at it with similar products.

It was mentioned in another thread that the online project management space is big enough to support a few more players.  All together, now:  "Hmmmmmmm..."

To be honest I'd say no. I don't see them as beeing in the same league at all. The goal of FogBugz is to be perfect for Sotfware development projects while Basecamp i aimed at beeing good for everyone.

Besides, the interface design skills of 37Signals are much superior anyway.

I didn't find the UI of BasecampHQ all that great from a usability point of view. It looks pretty though.

I agree with Anon. I actually found BaseCamp confusing and hard to use. Not to mention the screen shots they have on their site make the app look prettier than it really is.

Rather humorously, I find the websites of most "usability gurus" dreadfully horrible to use (See: Jakob Neilsen's page (My god, it's full of links!), or AskTog).

JOS is one of the few sites I've seen on the net that (sometimes) deals with usability issues AND manages to keep things simple without looking like a webpage that someone put together in their college dorm, circa 1996 (minus the blink tags).
