Has anyone worked for/with OPNET Technologies?
Tuesday, May 15, 2007
I've worked quite extensively with OPNET's software. It's really cool stuff. As a software developer, I especially liked their "ACE" (Application Characterization Environment" software. Very cool stuff for doing app analysis and simple predictive performance analysis of apps running on a network. I also used their discrete-event simulation software, for simulating environments from simple networks to fairly complex WANs. The PhDs in our group knew networking stuff much better than me, but I learned a ton and had good results w/ the tools.
At their OPNETWork conference in 2004 (IIRC), I did a short presentation on "When APIs and Protocols Collide" for one of the breakout sessions. Pretty fun.
Why are you asking?
