GMail Issue

Why don’t google update Gmail Screen.
When user opens Gmail Inbox view on bottom left corner there is a portlet for sending user invites.
Its say something like this:"Invite a friend....50 invites left"
What the hell ?
Gone are the days when gmail account was at premium.
Now even a farmer can log on to gmail and get a new one.

Check me if I am wrong or misinterpreting

I think just the count ("97 left" etc...) should not be displayed as anyone can register now from the gmail login page. Invite feature can still be kept.

Use Firefox. Go to LifeHacker and download BetterGMail.  It has a bunch of features... one of which will hide the "Invites" section.
