I don't think it is a troll, it looks exactly like posts I've seen from legitimate .in addresses.

Yeah, I've seen a lot of posts like that from .in people. Check out the dojo mailing list for some examples...

My memory is a little vague. Did we see this same sort of thing from US posters at the height of the .COM bubble?

One will see the same kind of inquires posted on PeopleSoft and SAP forums as well.

I like to think that the COM ones were a little easier on Caps Lock.

and I'ld like to think I'm a billionaire, but reality doesn't actually care what I'ld like to be true.  ;)

Hahahaha, that one is great. I give maximum respect to the moderators of that forum. I remember getting banned from irc channels for mentioning that I didn't have time to read the docs...

Heh, "do not post unless you answer respecfully"... I love the guys on comp.lang.c who will very thoroughly answer your question and then proceed to rip your posting technique a new one.

I like that bit.  Not only does s/he expect the answer, he wants it delivered to him, not just a reply.

So, does he want a respectful reply, or an email with the answer?  Can we be disrespectful in the email?  :)

i used to be pretty active on Experts Exchange, but I;ve stopped answering questions because I find too many to be from people like this....

That is, people that just want the answer and it's pretty obvious that their resume says they should know the what it is.

I gave up on Experts Exchange when I found out that all the points I got answering people's questions didn't count for getting my questions answered.

There are limits to how far you can screw me!
