Build Maker

I have been searching around for some kind of "build maker" program.  I basically want to call all of my programs that I use to make a build (VC, make, setup creator, help make) from the command line.

The trick is that I then also want to create a directory named according to date or build number.

A simple batch file would do the former but the latter I am struggling with.  Does anyone have a program or idea of how they automate their build making?

I use AAP, from I looked at some other alternatives, but this was the most flexible and appropriate for my needs.
