Downloading emails to files

Is there any Windows software that can run as a service or scheduled task and download email from a POP3 account to a specified directory?

I've Googled and found nothing.

I want the emails saved as individual files in the filesystem so I can process them using a separate program.

Check out our product, MessageSave. It has an API that will allow you to invoke your program on the downloaded messages. You will need to have Outlook running for it to work.
