A public forum for discussing the design of software, from the user interface to the code architecture. Now closed.
I would like know if there are any service oriented interfaces out there that you use as a reference to hammer out your own service oriented interfaces.
I have done quite a bit of work with services over the past few years and there are lessons that I've learned around designing good services, especially when exposed as web services.
The two major online services that I look to are Ebay and Amazon. It is interesting to see different strategies around errors, warnings, versioning, levels of abstraction, types, messages, usage of scalars, etc.
Does anyone else have any interfaces that they use as reference? I find the Amazon and Ebay services very valuable because of the amount of man power that has gone into their designs.
Thanks in advance,
Jon from ProactiveLogic
