.NET Web App Architecture Guidance

My company is developing a web based application and I am looking for guidance on architecture.   

Can anyone recommend a couple of good books or web articles?

If you are looking to use .NET 2.0 then you might want to look into MasterPages.  One system that I designed for a regional electrical provider was using .NET 1.1 and it ended up looking alot like Masterpages but they started the design before I told them about .NET 2.0 features.

If you are using the Microsoft stack (which is excellent for web development) skip right to Windows Server 2003, .Net 2.0, and Visual Studio 2005 - don't waste time on previous versions.  If you want some sizzle $800 buys some very pretty web controls from here or here
