Does mshtml.dll come with .net framework?

Does MSHTML.DLL come with .net framework installation?

it does not detect it when i install  .net 2.0

is it a separate dll that I should distribute with my application?

As far as I remember, no. If your code depends on the piece of Internet Explorer, you simply have to list that particular IE version to be installed. You can't redistribute IE so it's always the user that does that manually.

Situation will become MUCH easier in a few weeks when IE 7 gets "forcibly" deployed to millions of machines through Windows Update.

Well you can't readily do this even if you wanted to. IE is on every PC so what's your problem?

I can't believe IE7 will make that much difference.  Too much of Windows depends on IE's bits and pieces, as well as too much 3rd party software.

Or is the implication that IE7 will bring in new, improved, alternative components to build upon?

I suppose I haven't kept up, but doesn't IE7 just live alongside IE6?

I ran into this problem and simply set mshtml.dll to 'copy local'.

I don't where it says you "can't redistribute" this file, but I don't see how you can deploy without doing so.
