Ideally it would be cross-browser, not an IE-only control.
Feature set would be basic formatting (bold, italics), indentation, and bulletted or numbered lists. Don't really need control of fonts or other advanced word-processing features.
The output would ideally be RTF, HTML, or possibly just text with marked up XML that the control could render. I'd like to be able to compose a word document as output from a collection of these littel snippets.
Thanks in advance, haven't had much luck googling.

The best ones I've found so far have been FCKeditor (free, www.fckeditor.net) and ActivEdit (commercial, www.cfdev.com).
