distributed caching in java - weird?

looking for a caching solution
1. I should be able to add more machines to increase the capacity of the cache
2. Keys can be single value or multi valued..ie. i should be able to store 1000s of objects against one key in certain situations and just 1 to 1 in others..
3. Should be accessible from any other java process

IS there any such caching solution you know of? Or is this a weird requirement?
never mind

Take a look at http://www.theserverside.com/ and search on caching. A well discussed subject.

Coherance is one popular product.

Either I don't understand what you meant, or your just not making sense.  Do you know how hashing works?  Your going to have to use a wrapper object that is a collection to get this done.  Which is not difficult. I'm not sure why this is a main requirement of yours or why you think it will give you trouble
