Searching for article - Amazon on X servers

There was an article published a few years ago in which the author laid out his plan for running an Amazon-size business off of either two or three servers. I remember it generating quite a bit of discussion at the time.

I'm having a heck of a time trying to find this article again. Does anyone have any ideas where this article may still reside?

Regards-

How does he define "server"?

Sun and IBM, for example, make some pretty large servers that cost more than most houses.  I imagine they could probably custom-build "one or two" that would fit the bill.

I'm trying to re-read the article so I can find out. My sense is that he was talking about commodity servers, not some of the big behemoths.

Anyone can plan anything.

Did the business actually get off the ground?
