Does anyone know of an Apache module that would enable server-side execution of Javascript in Web server context, in the same vein as mod_perl, mod_python or mod_php? Google found references to mod_javascript and mod_js on various fora, but no actual software...

Thank you, that is an excellent article. OpenMocha seems quite interesting, except apparently most of the projects this article lead me to seem to be based on Rhino, i.e. Java implementation of Javascript. I would personally prefer something that runs on top of SpiderMonkey, which is in C, but the only contestant here seem to be Whitebeam, which has added XML into the mix.
