Browser Plugins

Can anyone point me to some resources regarding implementation of browser plugins? IE and Forefox in particular. I haven't done firefox research yet, and it probably has plenty of obvious resources, but I couldn't really find anything useful for developers rearding IE plugins.

As a more general question, I have a small project idea for which an obvious avenue of implementation is a browser plugin since it deals with loaded web pages. However, are there currently more accepted ways of implementing web page related functionality aside from browser plugins and internet explorer 'bars'?

Off Topic: Your QuickNotes program might be perfect for a guy in a post earlier today searching for a decent PIM.

Second, I would also be interested in anything you find out about plugins and explorer bars.  Please post the info you find to your blog. :)

You must realize that Dante Pignetti is not a real name and is, in fact, a character from novel. :) It's a better way to say Anonymous. :)

I'm not the creator of the program you mentioned. :)

Besides wrting a plugin, you can embed IE in your app:

Or, for better portability, use XUL:

I had a tough time finding Firefox resources as well. This one will help you get started on Firefox plugins:

If you want browsing functionality within an application, a browser plugin might be a bad choice. Instead use the cool browser widget provided by Eclipse:
