Linux Kernel Modules Questions

Can I write a userspace C++ class that inserts modules into the kernel on demand? How would I go about it, so I can successfully verify that module loaded correctly into the kernel?

Yes.

Probably want to look at the source code for the commands "insmod" and "lsmod", which, respectively, link modules to the kernel and list installed modules.

For that matter, just use system() to call either insmod or modprobe. The return value will tell you whether the operation succeeded or not.

I might be stating the obvious, but.. keep in mind that said userspace process would need root privileges.
