Running a Windows batch file from GNU make

I need to run a Windows batch file from GNU make. I am currently using Cygwin. I tried with
abc.bat
or
start abc.bat

in the comamnd line, but GNU make complained "command not found".

cmd.exe /c abc.bat

should work.

What if you try 'command abc.bat'?

If that doesn't work, try writing a shell script which runs the batch file as above and call that from make.
