Building .NET P2P Application

Hello-

Strictly as a learning exercise (i.e., I want to build it from scratch), I want to create a simple MSN Messenger clone.  For a first pass, it will support text chat.  In a second phase, I'd like to add support for voice.  Does anyone know fo any good sources of material that can clue me in on how to build one of these application?  Does anyone have any ideas or experiences?

Regards-
