Accessing Outlook/Express/Eudora account information

I am developing an application which needs to know the POP address of the user's email account.  I currently have it so the user enters in the information and changes a setting in their email client.  The beta testing I have done shows that this is not an "easy" task for users to do.

I want to be able to "import" the account settings and let the user select which account (if there are more then one) to use with the application.  I am wondering if anyone has information on how I can do this programmatically?  I am developing the app with VB6.

I have done some detective work and found some of the settings in the registry and some in files, but I dont want to reverse engineer this.  I would rather have a more stable approach.  Thoughts?  Thanks.
