Developing social network web site

I am new to social network development, but have an idea of developing social network site that will accept live stream videos.

Would would be your suggestions? What frameworks to use, what technologies and etc...
Any technical / architectural suggestion is welcome.

Do you mean like periscope?

In all honesty considering a developing a social network site is a long shot. What competitive advantage would your service have over the existing players including FaceBook? Would cater to a niche market?

Before looking at technical consideration, first address the business side. The technical considerations shouldn't be your driver.

+1 to Marcus.

It is non-trivial to come up with a compelling social network business now.

Yeah.  I had an idea for a mobile app. for parents of young kids to arrange spur of the moment play dates.  Kind of like "I'm free and so are you, let's meet at the playground".

In my research I found some well funded companies had already given it a shot and failed.  The only criticism I could find was that people do not want another social network to manage.

I'd suggest piggy backing on FB, by making it an FB app, perhaps?
