When do you think the low sales cycle will end?

Hi Folks.

I've been earing everyone being affected by the slow summer sales.

This month I've seen a 40% drop in sales.

But June and July were normal.

Do we expect the sales to recover after school starts in a couple of weeks?

Is September usually a good recovery month or sales?

It all varies radically on all sorts of factors including niche, publicity, random word of mouth, unexpected magazine reviews, location, product quality, and the weather.

If you are in business for a few years, just browse your sales history.

By the way, sales may also be affected by your product version cycle.

P.S.: The terrorists! How could we have forgotten them: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KUaEtf1s23w

Now, replace this with Obama and "Iran" and watch for the next wave of terror.

He's not saying terrorist! He's saying terrist. Must be a new breed of dog.

So sad. Watch the movie "Canadian Bacon". The parallels are staggering.

Are you sure that low sales is due to summer?

Have you done enough homework?

I'm sure that depends on your market and we don't know what that is.

+1 Gautam,
Maybe its time to take a closer look at your funnel and make sure that you're not losing some. BTW if you do have a product that gets seasonal attention, then this doesn't hold good.

I hope sales pick up for you, because if they don't, the terrorists win.

I'm about to close out my best month ever. August was great!

I've always been curious, though, about why one day can be fantastic, but another day may yield no sales.  Why aren't all sales distributed evenly across the calendar.
I might chalk it up to the Google Gods, or perhaps there is some mass psychology at play, the weather, stock market... not exactly sure. Its hard to put my finger on.

If this helps yes September for me is normally one of my hottest months for sails. It happens every year consistently. However as the global economy goes through changes like the recession things have changed a little. I also think changes in your search engine results tied to how google reacts to things like reference sites linked to yours can completely change your sales. I had a really popular domain site that for years was number one in it's market with links to me suddenly switch it's domain to a new one and it pretty much bombed all of the customers linked from that site in google. I watched google lower my rankings because of that over many months and sales tanked. So check your google analytics if you have it to see if you have had any radical search changes. That's a very common explanation for online sales changes.
