We have recently updated our website for our text message reminder service. I wondered what your impressions are of the site as far as getting the message across and presenting it quickly and concisely. Thanks httP;//www.4myMeMo.com
"httP;" lol. a comment on look. the red of the hovered menus is too red. and it is obviously not the same as the overall red. i would choose a different color or stick to the current red. as for the message, it got through. i understood what the service does. i was just wondering which of my problems it solves and would like to have them listed, preferably on the first page. oh, a video rather than an animation of pictures would be even greater. my 2 cents.
I don't know that your faq is answering the right questions. I would want to know much different things: 1) How does it work? 2) Is someone transcribing or is it automated? 3) Do I get a confirmation text so I know that it recorded and scheduled my message correctly? 4) If it's not transcribed by a person, what keywords will I need to memorize so I can use the service effectively? Also, your example messed with me, made the service seem very strange and unprofessional: "I need shampoo, A1 sauce, LIQUID SMOKE...." WTF? What is Liquid Smoke? Sounds like some kind of strange nicotine product maybe??
@Ben, the first FAQ item answers most of your questions. I suppose the fact that you had to ask means that it wasn't emphasized enough. Maybe the site needs a dead-simple diagram of a person calling MeMo, a human listening to the message and typing it into a computer, and then the computer sending a text message to the person. That would probably get the point across.
"Maybe the site needs a dead-simple diagram of a person calling MeMo, a human listening to the message and typing it into a computer, and then the computer sending a text message to the person." a video :)
Colors is of course a matter of taste, I can only comment how that much red worked on me. It's late. I had crazy day, just about to go to bed.. then I see this violent screaming red all over the place. First thought "why is this guy screaming?" To my taste, overall colors should be more neutral and less violent while strong colors used for making a point. Also red associates to me with Red Army :) No hard feeling, eh? Just an opinion.. Small comment on the padding, it's particularly too small on the front page around the main picture and in the tables. Makes the text looked too crammed while you've got so much space. May be it doesn't get rendered properly on my browser though..
"LIQUID SMOKE...." Yeah I tripped out on that the first time I heard it. I thought it said Liquid Soap. Its some kind of flavoring for food. It does bring up a good point I have been thinking about. The examples are not professional, they are our everyday users and we are focusing more on the executive side. Perhaps we need to give some examples of those. | |
