To build chat server application (html) is there market for it ?

Hello all
i wander does any one here have experience in building custom servers
for example to build chat application ( not flash but html )
and putting the focus on easy installation and offering performance that is better then others
is there any market for such thing ?

Not unless you've found it already.

There are tons of free & open source chat applications out there, and all of them suck to one degree or another. So what will make yours so special people will pay for it?

etherpad sounds like a good application, but it also serves as an example of what a turn-off it is not to list the price. Nothing to even a ballpark. Before I spent time signing up for a 30 day trial, I'd like to know what is it going to cost me if I like it. $50-100? $500+? few $K?
