Last year, someone posted the results of the A/B tests he ran on various site elements, e.g., the size, shape, color, text, and position of his download and buy now buttons. Anyone remember his name* or have a link to the blog? *P.S. I don't think it was Benjamin.
Patric's giant button actually works. I tried it and almost an instant 200% increase in downloads.

I honestly think the proper size for a download button is probably 800x600 or so. ;) That said, while I've published the results of a few A/B tests over the years, I bet you're not remembering one of them from me. You might be thinking of the Optimization Blog. It took me a while of searching to re-find the URL for it. http://www.misvspot.com/index.php/optimizationblog/
Can you say how giant is giant? I figure mine are pretty big, but maybe not big enough? Also, are you B2C or B2B?

> http://www.misvspot.com/index.php/optimizationblog/ That's the one. Unfortunately it doesn't look like he continued the testing. > I think this may have been Patrick (bingo card creator) As mentioned, Patrick did do some testing on buttons as well as tests with Google Optimizer. His posts are well worth reading for anyone starting to tweak their site for better conversions. Testing is site specific, but it is also time consuming. So I'd like to find some blog posts about different tests people have tried in order to get test ideas for my own site. It's always nice to have a fruitful starting point. If anyone has some relevant links, please post them.
mine is almost like a business card size. 300 x 150px Increase of about 200% from going from a normal size button. Almost overnight. But put that on your main index page.. no as a download button on the download page.. otherwise it might not be a big difference.
