Introductory Price ?

In a repeat business, Introductory Price sets an expectation of cost / price and same customer is not willing to pay higher price later.

But for shareware, same customer is not likely to buy again until the next upgrade.

In your opinion, should I offer an Introductory Price for a week or two?

Hard to answer your question with so little context. My guess would be that in 2 weeks for a new product, you will get so few sales that it won't tell you much anyway.

I would suggest to go for a price that make sense (as far you can guess), see what happen in 2 months, and eventually correct the price once you've got some significant market feedback.

If you have a list, use it as a sales tool

Buy before deadline-date, and save $10.

Of course, this only works if you stick to the deadline.

I don't have a list, but I do have "a lot" of beta users, who will come back to download new "evaluation" version or buy it, when the beta expires on December 31st. So, I am thinking of launching the first paid version at an introductory price.

If you have a customer base already (from other products of yours), it would be helpful to announce an Introductory price.
