quick adwords tip

It is very important to get your negative keywords set up correctly in adwords to maximise your ROI. The slow methodical way to do it is to look through your server logs. Here is a quick way.

Search for all your key adwords terms at http://search.live.com . Note any 'related searches' displayed that are not relevant to your product. Add these as 'negative keywords' at the campaign level in adwords.

For example searching for "table plan" brings up irrelevant (for me) searches of "Poker Table Plans", "Picnic Table Plans" etc. So I can just add "Poker" and "Picnic" as negative keywords.

Thanks andy.

I did start using adwords but just gav up until I had enough time to work things out fully.

Your advice has been loged in my brain for when i start them up again.

Good advice, Andy.

I use the similar tactics with Google toolbar. I've just posted an article about this in my blog:

You should be picking up negative keywords from your web logs (and positive for that matter.)

Indeed. I wouldn't advocate it as a replacement for that.
