I've always loved seeing the way other folks work. This morning, during my daily routine, I took some photos. So, if anyone is interested, you can see a glimpse of my life, and the Antair office here: http://www.antair.com/andrey/antair/
Yep. 2 points. This was implemented years ago, and initially enforced. Most people avoid blocking the intersection now, but sometimes one can't avoid it, and I haven't honestly seen anyone get a ticket for that in a while. ... which reminds me, I have to go pay that speeding ticket :)
I'm pretty amazed at how light the traffic is on the FDR (or wherever that is) at 7am on a weekday. Nice setup... if i remember later I'll post some of mine.
I would post some pictures of mine but I work in my basement. Half of the room is dedicated to my work which consists of two desks, multiple computers, and several Point of Sale terminals and peripherals. The other half gets used by my two kids. So behind me on the floor is a GeoTrax setup, Barbie kitchen, Little Tikes basketball hoop, and various other toys. Although I have to admit that I use the basketball hoop myself to let off stress every now and then so the line between what's mine and theirs is sometimes very blurry. ;) But you just can't beat a "13 step commute" each day.

Don't worry Turtle. There is a reason I took a workspace shot of only one corner. The other three corners belong to my dog as "toy stashing" areas.
>>> hmm... you lord of the ring collection doesn't match. :) Actually, it does. It's the last release of the extended edition of all three movies in one box set. So they all came prepackaged together.
Nice, and so clean! And that's very nice furniture. Where'd you get it? *sniff* Is that estrogen I smell? :)
I also see "Masters of Doom" on your shelf. It's almost like the video game version of "Disney Wars". Great book.
Bob, that's a very nice amount of desk space you have there. I'm jealous ;) Now all I have to do is turn one Prospector subscriber (yeah we got our first!) into 500 (patience is a virtue) and I'll be buying fancy office furniture too.
@Crimson - The furniture is from Ikea...of course. :) I chose the desk myself, but yes, my wife went with me to offer 'suggestions'. :) @SheWearsthePanst - Not 2 packs yet, a pack + a few, but yes, since I started working from home, I have been smoking a bit more. I only smoke in the office when I'm at home, since that's a bit isolated and well ventilated, and out on the balcony. But yeah...I really should stop. I actually quit for a good 7 years (cold turkey), but started again shortly after joining Goldman Sachs. :)
Hey Andrey are you camera shy?? It's nice to put a face to the words sometimes. Otherwise thanks for the insight.

Andre, As long as your health has already been brought up with regard to smoking, you may also want to get off the diet soda. Aspartame is not a very healthy thing to ingest. Despite what the FDA may say, it had a very questionable approval (initially it was disapproved) and it was Searle's (now owned by Monsanto) then CEO (by the name of Donald Rumsfeld that was able to push it through.
Good Lord! Bunch of hippies! ... kidding. I know. I know. But it's all innocent really...the soda can replaced the bottle of whiskey that used to be there. :)
People who ride performance motorbikes (i.e. not Harleys) tend not to worry too much about smoking and sweeteners. ;0)
OK, this was in the spring, at the cube farm... http://www.flickr.com/photo_zoom.gne?id=303728818&size=m Since then, I've switched to tele-commuting. I'll post one of my home office as soon as I find my camera...
"I'm astonished to find people telling the OP what he can drink and if he can smoke." Not what he can/can't, but what he should/shouldn't.

These clean work areas are making me feel guilty. My work area isn't messy really (not THAT messy anyway), but you guys' are spotless! Thanks for giving me a complex, Mr. Butov.
If you want real messy, take a look here. Note that I stood a long way back when taking the photos to avoid overwhelming the unsuspecting viewer with a gory close-up of the mess: http://www.sleeksoft.co.uk/public/techblog/articles/20061123_1.html
"Most of the time I work on the sofa. ;) The commuting is soooo easy. :)" hmm... I plan to take it to the final level and start working in bed. :) After being sick in bed a couple of days, I find it very conductive to have my laptop right there to take down notes, make small changes and so on.
This is where I spent the summer, doing a bit of Offshore Development for a client: http://www.blogabond.com/Photos/PhotoView.aspx?imageID=993 Flew the whole team out, along with the client. All together it came in cheaper than office space in LA.
I like Kathy Sierra's Airstream office: http://headrush.typepad.com/creating_passionate_users/2006/10/post.html
